Maria Santa Squicciarini 75, of Naples, FL died on August 23, 2022 at the Frances Georgeson Hospice House after an extended illness. Maria was born on September 9, 1946, in Acquaviva, Italy a daughter of the late Domenico and Vita Maria (Demarinis) Lucarelli. She arrived in America on a boat named Raffaello in 1968. She had been a resident of Naples since 1983 moving from Long Island, NY.
She was a former seamstress at a garment factory in New York. Her skills with a sewing machine were amazing as she continued to sew from her home in Naples. She sewed special clothing for her young nieces, nephews, and siblings. She taught many family members how to sew, how to cook, how to garden, and how to love unconditionally. Her passion was her family. She took great pride in all that she did not leaving any details out. Maria was a longtime parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. She had a very strong faith and kept images of God close to her every step of her life.
She is survived by her beloved son, Anthony A. Squicciarini and his wife, Hayley; two grandchildren, Giovanni and Cruz Squicciarini of Bonita Springs, FL; two loving sisters, Caterina Lucarelli and Laura Puleio and her husband, Angelo; two loving brothers, Giacoma Lucarelli and his wife, Lucy and Arcangelo Lucarelli and his wife, Gail all of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shikany s Bonita Funeral Home 28300 So. Tamiami Tr., Bonita Springs.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A reception for family and friends will follow the Mass in the Parish Life Center. In addition to traditional flowers being sent we also encourage donations to the Cancer Alliance of Naples.
