STUARTS DRAFT - Marian Smith Woolfrey, formerly of Mineral, passed away on December 8, 2023.
Born December 31, 1930 in Louisa County, she was a daughter of Clifton Phillip Smith and Elease Virginia (Talley) Smith. Marian graduated from Louisa High School in 1948. She was employed by Woolfolk Manufacturing for 46 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1994. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Marian was an accomplished seamstress and was an avid animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Phil A. Woolfrey; as well as brothers James Nelson Smith, Kenneth Harry Smith and William Phillip Smith; and sister Ruth Smith. She is survived by a sister, Bernice Carson of Henrico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14 in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Louisa, officiated by Rev. Daniel Albrant. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be A. W. Woolfrey III, Conrad Smith, Donald Smith, Philip Whitlock, Jerry Jones, Mac Rigsby, Tyler Gilchrist and Rucker Shipp.
The family will receive friends in the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be directed to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3091 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Louisa, VA 23093.
