She was born in Duluth MN on March 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Mitchell L. Swor and Irene Virginia (Novitzki) Swor.
She was a graduate of Central High School and cosmetology school. She was a cook for Cambridge City Schools for five years.
Marianne was a member of the Friendship VII Sweet Adelines in New Concord. Marianne joined in 1987. She was in seven quartets over thirty-seven years. Marianne was Sweet Adeline of the year in 2011. She sang the bass part.
Marianne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cambridge, which is now known as Cambridge Presbyterian, for over sixty years. She was a member of the choir and had served as a deacon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Calixte, who passed away May 7, 2015. They were married August 18, 1956. Also deceased is son, Steve Calixte.
Marianne is survived by her three daughters: Cheryl Calixte of Columbus, Nancy (& Earl) Feldner of Cambridge, and Tamara (& Rocky) Allen of Tennessee; six grandchildren: Katie Laver, Erin Laver, Ethan Laver, Joseph (& Britney) Feldner, Sara Feldner (& Jacob Lowman), and Jordan Allen (& boyfriend, Zulun Shimonov); four great-grandchildren: Lucas Lowman, Haley Lowman, Aiden Feldner, and McKenzie Hooper; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kehlahi Cody.
The family would like to say thank you to the following: Hospice of Guernsey; her caregiver, Sallie Harper; and her friend, Barb Belus.
Visitation will be held Monday (December 23, 2024) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Bergeson officiating.
Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
