Marie Bayda Obituary

Born in Paterson, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (née Krempasky) Sweeney. She grew up in Paterson and eventually settled in the Singac section of Little Falls. A devoted homemaker, she treasured time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether gathered around the kitchen table or enjoying a quiet afternoon with family, Marie was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her beloved husband of 62 years, Peter Bayda. She is survived by her children, Peter J. Bayda and his wife, Tania, and Patricia A. Kungl and her husband, Anton; her grandchildren, Melissa, Jason, Meaghan and her husband, Eddie, and Lauren and her husband, Malcolm; and her great-granddaughters, Olivia and Hailey. She also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Alberto, and her husband, Louis, caretaker, Precious, along with many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. Funeral Services will begin on Friday, July 25th, at 9:00 a.m. with a Catholic Prayer Service to be offered at 10:00 a.m. at the home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. Memories, photos, and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or visit stjude.org/donate.
