Marie Charlotte Case

MARIE CHARLOTTE CASE – Marie Charlotte Case, affectionately known as "Tootsie," age 92 passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at The Hospice House in Lansing, Michigan. She was born March 16th, 1932, youngest of seven siblings. Four brothers and three sisters in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Fredrick and Marie Siegrist.
Marie graduated with honors from Bay City High School Class of 1950. She moved from Bay City to Lansing, Michigan, and began her career working in the Treasury Department at the State Capital. Marie Charlotte Siegrist married Eugene Donald Case on April 15th, 1961, they settled in Lansing Michigan, and were married for 60 years. Marie raised four children and went back to work for the State of Michigan as an administrative assistant for 24 years. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Marie was loving, kind, and always had a listening ear that would sometimes lead to sharing perspectives that helped others heal. She often found ways to connect with family and friends, welcoming them all into her home. She was passionate about hugs, family gatherings, playing cards and board games, enjoyed puzzles, and with Christmas being her favorite holiday always had her home open for Christmas gatherings. She enjoyed volunteering at St Vincent shortly after retiring from the State of Michigan.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Eugene Case, brothers, Eugene, Edward, Robert, Fred, sisters, Betty, Marion, and Thelma. Surviving in addition to her sister in-law Mary Case, brother in-law Fred Bernard, daughters, Anne Bennett and her husband, Ed, of Lansing, Mary Case, Carolyn Case, of Lansing, and her son Brian Case and his wife Michelle of Houston, TX, grandchildren Beth, Brandon, Anastasia, Angela, and great grandchildren Trevor, Bryson, Audrina, and Charlotte.

A Celebration of Marie's life will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7740 W. St. Joseph Highway, Lansing, MI 48917, with a light lunch to be served.
