Marie Sosinski
Marie Sosinski, age 92, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025. She was born in Erie on April 2, 1932, daughter of the late Louis and Anna Serafini Papucci.
Marie graduated from Academy High School, where she was an honor student. She worked as an Assistant Librarian at Mercyhurst University for 27 years. Marie and Carl were married in Blackstone, VA at Camp Pickett on February 14, 1953. She was very family oriented and enjoyed gardening, cooking, boating and fishing. Marie had been in the VNA Hospice program since August 3, 2023. There she was very blessed to be under the outstanding care of Laura, the nurse and Alyssa, the aide and Dr. Seth Carter.
Marie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Carl R. Sosinski, Jr.; four children, Greg Sosinski (Paula), Pam Sosinski (Mike Kondak), Helene Bardelli and Ronald Sosinski; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Tyler, Sabrina and Isabella; and two sisters-in-law, Joan Ahlschlager and Bernice Sosinski.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday, January 19th, from 4 to 7 pm. Further visitation will be held on Monday, January 20th, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1553 East Grandview Blvd., from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11 am. Entombment will follow at Mary, Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Erie, 2253 West Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16506 or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1553 East Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16510.
