Marie C. Walsh, beloved wife of the late John J. Walsh and beloved mother of Michael D. Walsh, David W. Walsh, Kevin T Walsh (deceased), John P. Walsh all originally from Manchester, CT, died peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Manchester Manor, surrounded by her family. Born in Rockville, CT, June 19, 1923, she attended Rockville schools, moving to East Hartford, CT, graduated East Hartford High School Class of 1941. She joined the U.S. Navy (Waves) in Sept. 1944 serving in WW II, stationed in Bronx NY., Stillwater Ok., and Washington D.C. She worked at the Veterans Administration Atty. General's office in Hartford Ct. She attended Hillyer College Univ. of Hartford after the war. She was married in 1948 in New Haven Ct. and lived in East Hartford then Manchester Ct. for 62 years and enjoyed the Irish American Home in Glastonbury Ct. and visits to Ireland for many years. She is also survived by grandchildren Courtney Walsh Heard, Ryan Walsh, Scott Walsh, Jeff Walsh, Lauren Walsh Schwarmann, Kerry Walsh, and Dylan Walsh. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren William, Jack, Jackson, Liam, Juliet, Lucas, Reece, Westley & Willow and two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Walsh and Catherine Walsh. She will be dearly missed by many family members, friends, and all who knew her for her strength, kindness, compassion and selfless love.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living in South Windsor and Manchester Manor for their kindness and support during the last years of Marie's life.
Calling hours will be on September 24th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church, 27 Adams St. S in Manchester at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, burial will follow at East Cemetery, 220 East Center St. in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to CTAWWA Scholarship Fund in honor of Kevin T. Walsh. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Marie, please visit our floral store.
