Marie L. Wloch, 83 of Valatie, NY passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025 at St. Peters Hospice, Albany, NY. Marie was born on July 6, 1942 in Hudson, NY. She was a 1960 graduate of Ichabod Crane High School and later Austin Beauty School. Marie owned and operated her own beauty shop and in her later years worked as a receptionist for Barnwell Nursing Home.
Marie devoted her life to God, her family and service to others. She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Valatie having served as Deacon, member of the choir and frequent volunteer at church functions where she helped start a food pantry. Marie also was a member of Eastern Star, the Christian Women's club, worked the polls for the Republican party and was an active volunteer for various charities.
She was the daughter of Walter D. Sterner and Susan (Gillette) Sterner. Marie is survived by her husband of 64 years Daniel Wloch Sr., sister Carol LaTorre of Fortuna, CA and children Lisa Wloch, Wendy Wenzel (Bill), and Daniel Wloch Jr., her grandchildren Michael (Diana), Heidi, Julie and a great grandchild, Harlan.
A wake will be held at Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie NY on Friday October 24, 2025 from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of St. Peter's Hospital in Marie's name. Burial services will be at a later date in Hamlin Cemetery, Hamlin, PA.
