In memory of Marilyn K. Davis who passed away on September11, 2023. Marilyn was the loving wife of the late Lewis Davis to whom she was married for 70 years. She is survived by her beloved and devoted daughters Denise A. Mainardi (Nicholas), Donna M. Zenszer (Joseph), Deborah M. Miller (David), Doreen K. McNutt (Peter). Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Lucas (Ken), Joseph Zenszer (Suzy), Nicholas Mainardi, Jr. (Kirstin), Brian Zenszer (Jena), Scott Miller, Mark Miller, Eric Miller (Dawn), Alise McNutt, Paul Miller, Andrew McNutt, Colin McNutt, Christopher Miller and her great grandchildren, Briena, Gianna, Chase, Brayden, Gwen, Aaron, Luke, Dylan and Cara.
Marilyn was the dear sister of Marcella Ryan (the late Stephen), the late Marie White (the late Robert), the late Joan Ames (the late John) and the late Joseph Hickey (Lorraine). She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marie Hickey and her daughter Diane Sweeney.
Marilyn worked at the Naval Supply Depot and the Internal Revenue Service in Philadelphia. She finished her career as a Credit Manager at Friends Hospital. She also did some casual fashion modeling on weekends. She graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and continued her support by generously devoting time and providing financial support to the school throughout her life. She was a devout Catholic who never missed Sunday Mass along with Lew and their five Daughters. They enjoyed many family vacations at both Ocean City and the Pocono Mountains. Marilyn was known for her sense of humor and was the life of the party. People often gathered around her waiting to hear one of the many funny stories that she would tell in a style that was both interesting and unique. The laughter that she was able to generate is one of the many things that will be missed by those closest to her. She was an avid Phillies fan for most of her life because a number of Phillies players lived in the neighborhood where she grew up. She never missed watching a game on television and could recite player's statistics and the details of the game.
Through the years she blessed us in so many ways, her love, caring and encouragement has made an incredible difference in the lives of her family and those closest to her. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 10:15 to 11:45AM in Saint Jude Church and Shrine, 321 W. Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA 18914 and to her funeral Mass to be celebrated at Noon. A link to the livestream of the funeral Mass provided by Saint Jude is available below.
