Marilyn (Liptak) Dickey, 91, of Lewis Center, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus, surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn was born on December 8, 1933, in Streator, Illinois, one of seven children of the late John and Agnes (Fialko) Liptak. She attended Streator High School, graduating in 1951. On July 5, 1952, she married the love of her life, Herbert "Glenn" Dickey, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Streator. Soon after, Marilyn and Glenn began their family and the beautiful life they built together.
A woman of abiding faith, Marilyn and Glenn were 20+ year members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville. In recent years, she cherished attending Grace Point Community Church in Lewis Center with her son.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years, Glenn; and her siblings Edward, Albert, Betty, Joann, and Jack.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Mike (Barb) Dickey, Julie (Nikos) Kallinicou, and Ellen Kleis; her grandchildren Laura (Kevin) Haynes, Erin (Mark) Noone, Jason (Yao) Dickey, Elli Kallinicou, Marilyn Kallinicou, Alex Kallinicou, Nick (Louisa) Kallinicou, Andreas Kallinicou, Aggie Kallinicou, Corey Fry, Caley Fry, and Christy Fry; and her great-grandchildren Luke, Evan, Noah, Jack, Emily, Samuel, and Wrenley. She is also survived by her sister Diane (Norm) Baetz; her beloved pup, Meggy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for the people she loved. Thoughtful to her core, she noticed the little things - remembering favorite desserts, sending handwritten cards, and offering a listening ear without judgment. She found joy in simple, meaningful routines: knitting potholders and dishcloths to give to others, watching Hallmark and Western movies, completing the daily crossword, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens with the same care she gave to the people she loved. A wonderful cook and baker, she made her pie crusts from scratch, baked dozens of Christmas cookies every year, and decorated birthday cakes by hand for every celebration - always making each person feel special. She will be remembered as humble, witty, generous, caring, and above all, selfless.
Some of her most treasured memories included family camping trips to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and traveling to the Holy Land, Cyprus, and Slovakia, her father's homeland.
Friends may join the family on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Homes, Delaware Chapel, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, Ohio 43015, where a service celebrating Marilyn's life will begin at 6:00 p.m.
