Marilyn Foxx of Westwood, age 84, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends at Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence on June 24th, 2025.
Marilyn was born on November 25th,1940 in Boston to the late Joseph P. and Mary G. (O’Donnell) Meegan. She grew up in Roslindale and graduated from Roslindale High School, class of 1958. She moved to Westwood in the summer of 1971 and had been a resident of the town since.
Marilyn developed countless relationships in town while volunteering at the Westwood Senior Center packaging up meals and delivering them around town, at Saint Margaret Mary balancing and depositing the collection offerings, and at the Sheehan School working the polls at town elections.
Marilyn was an avid traveler and frequently vacationed with her friends, children and grandchildren around New England, on the Cape, Florida and New York City. She enjoyed music concerts as well.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by her three children, Nancy Kessler and her husband Bill of Groton, Jimmy Foxx and his wife Kelly of Wrentham and Michael Foxx and his wife Carolyn of Westwood. Mana is also survived by her nine cherished grandchildren and their spouses/significant others: Ali (Hugo), Dan, Audrey, Nora (Alex), Nolan, Mike, Rob (Katie), Ryan (Emma) and Owen (Kelly), her two great grandchildren, Maeve and Ellie, her brother Charlie and his wife Nicki as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her former husband James, sister Marie and her brother Joe.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visiting Hours at the Holden-Dunn-Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St, Westwood on Monday, June 30th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St, Westwood on Tuesday July 1st at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Marily lived in Westwood for over 50 years and donated many hours to community events. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s name as a tribute gift to the Westwood Food Pantry. http://www.westwoodfoodpantry.org/
