Marilyn "Sue" Hallauer of Holton, KS, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS with family by her side. She was born January 18, 1943 (you do the math) in Meriden, KS, the daughter of Harry Alonzo and Zora Constance (Garner) Martin.

Sue graduated from Meriden High School in 1961. In her early years, she worked for the State of Kansas in the Kansas Employment Security Division. Sue and her husband owned a farm in Jackson County for over 50 years. She also owned and operated along-side her husband and sons, Hallauer Oil Co. and 66 Food Plaza for over 24 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton and for over 20 years was a crossing guard for Holton Schools at Highway 75.

Sue married Ray Dean Hallauer on November 27, 1966 in Meriden, KS. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2022, after 55 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Zora Martin; sister, Peggy Long and brother, Donald Martin.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Brian Hallauer (Dana) of Topeka, KS and Troy Hallauer of Holton, KS; brother, Michael Martin (Debbie) of Meriden, KS; 2 grandchildren, Gracelyn and Benett; 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Family will greet friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be at the Holton Cemetery. Cards of Condolence may be sent to Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
