Marilyn Scafe

Marilyn M. Scafe, 78, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Born October 18, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of Carl A. and Helen E. (Schumacher) Shold.

Marilyn loved her family and friends deeply and found great joy in entertaining those she loved. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity, and for the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her greatest pride was raising her daughters - and her love of chocolate was a close second. She was a proud graduate of Central Michigan University and attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livermore, California.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Sean) Newby of Pace, Florida, and Beth Scafe of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; her beloved granddaughters, Elena and Eden Newby; her significant other, Don Guenther; and siblings, Betty (Bob) Madderom, Alan Shold, Brian (Terri) Shold, and Mary Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her daughters, Robert Scafe.
