Marilyn Simmons

Marilyn Anne Simmons, 87, of Ashland, passed away encircled by her children, at Brethren Care Health Care Center on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
Marilyn was born on February 23, 1935 to Kyle C. and Evelyn M. Mosser. She was a graduate of Ashland High School in 1953. She married Ronald Ray Simmons on April 15, 1953.
Marilyn was a mother and homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed music, movies, spending time with her family and friends and traveling to vacation spots with her children. She loved clothing, jewelry, live music concerts, babies and good homemade food.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by children, Karen (Rev. Mike) Namy, Mark (Brenda) Simmons, Dann (Annette) Simmons, Melody (Karen) Simmons, Greg (Dawn) Simmons, Kathy Ruiz, daughter-in-law Diane Simmons as well as grandchildren, Melissa (Adam), Kevin (Laurie), Joe (Mandy), Adam, Andy (Nikki), Iann, Eric (Nikki), Kyle (Becca), Cory (Ethan), Nichole (Sam), Nathan (Taylor), Brittney, Taylor, Audrey; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Abbey, Hailey, Emma, Mason, Brooke, Remy, Alyssa, Shyann, Kallie, Aayla, Devon, Jade, Mikayla, Isabella, Alice, Emma and Ilaina; niece; Vicki Farnwalt, and her best friends Penny and Ron Tucker, and Tammy and Rick Young.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, son Matthew, brother Eugene, nephew Mike and her parents.
Marilyn will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor as well as her love for diamonds and things that sparkle. She loved and was very proud of her children and their accomplishments and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday 4-5 pm with funeral services to follow at Roberts Funeral Home Ashland Chapel, 1058 US 250 North, Ashland, Ohio.
Marilyn and her family extend special thanks to all the staff at Brethren Care Village Healthcare Center, Dr. Christopher Boyd, Heidi Bird, PA, and Kindred Hospice for their professional and loving services. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Dann Simmons-Brad Olsen, Mark Hightower Nursing Scholarship Fund at the Ashland County Community Foundation, 300 College Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805, to ensure the education of future generations of caring registered nurses.
