Marilyn R. Vogt, age 93, of Peoria, passed away at 11:35 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Christian Buehler Home.

Marilyn was born January 7, 1932, in Peoria, to Frank and Rosella (Burdess) Closen. She graduated from Peoria Academy of Our Lady in 1949. Marilyn married Joseph H. Vogt on October 8, 1955. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2000. Following high school, she attended Brown's Peoria School of Business where she earned an accounting degree. Marilyn made a career in real estate as a salesperson and managing broker for over 45 years at Traders Realty. She will be remembered as an exemplary role model, both for her remarkable professional achievements and for the warm hospitality with which she welcomed everyone into her home. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three children: Teresa (Matt) Storti of Chillicothe, Nora (Chris) Boyer of Arlington Heights, John (Linda) Vogt of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren: Sarah Storti, Megan (Luke) Daigle, Joe Boyer, Jack Vogt, Elisabeth Vogt, and Ryan Vogt; two great-grandchildren: Josephine Daigle and Audrey Daigle; one sister Carol (Steve) Lacanski of Peoria; and sister-in-law Liz Nelson of Virginia.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Richard Closen.

Visitation will be held at St. Philomena Catholic Church on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Father Luke Spannagel will officiate, and burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Christian Buehler Home for their continued and loving care.

Preferred memorials in Marilyn's memory may be made to Christian Buehler Home or St. Philomena Catholic Church.
