Marilyn Sue Wright passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on September 15, 1937, to Jack and Mary Catherine Jackson.

Marilyn graduated from Drumright High School and lived most of her life in the Cushing and Stroud areas. She was a woman of strong faith and was a devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Stroud First Christian Church, and Maranatha Christian Church.

On May 18, 1956, Marilyn married the love of her life, Everett Joe Wright. Together, they owned and operated Wright’s Restaurant in Stroud, where Marilyn became well known for her generosity, kindness, and passion for feeding and helping the community. Prior to owning the restaurant, she worked as a homemaker, at Montgomery Ward, and at Oak Grove Schools.

In her free time, Marilyn loved to read and cook, shop—especially in Branson—and spend time with her family. She was known for her caring heart, loving spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mary Catherine Jackson; her husband, Everett Joe Wright; her brothers, Kenneth Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Floyd Jackson, and Charles Pitts; and her sister, Ginger.

She is survived by her children, Renee Williams, Everett Layne and Erma Wright, Russell and Cindy Wright, and Jackie and Paula Wright; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Marilyn will be remembered for her faith, her love of family, her servant’s heart, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity.
