Marion Tex Murray age 80 of Toccoa passed away Thursday May 8, 2025 at his residence.
A son of the late Hollis Marion and Mattie Sue Ellenburg Murray, he was born January 16, 1945 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all of his life. He was the purchasing manager for Toccoa Casket for forty years. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Truett McConnell College and a member of Magna Cum Laude. He loved Georgia Bulldogs and NASCAR. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Murray and a brother Ronnie Murray.
Survivors include his daughters Carla Murray and Lori Crowe both of Toccoa, Alea Yarborough of Collierville, Tennessee and Pam Arowood of Toccoa, Grandchildren Scott and Ashlea Arowood, Brandon and Alisha Crowe, Christopher Crowe, Logan Morris and Kala Morris, Great-grandchildren Easton Arowood, Remi Arowood, Zoey Crowe, Caleb Crowe, Nevaeh Owenby, Avery Moore and Luke Moore, brother-in-law Larry Ledford and sister-in-law Martha Ivester and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 10, 2025 at 2 P.M. at Liberty Baptist Church with the Reverend Stacy Penland, the Reverend Jerrell Beatty and Mr. Brandon Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 until service time.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Kenneth Payne, Danny Prewett, Brandon Crowe, Bobby Murray, Christopher Crowe, Scott Arowood and Shane Kelley.
Military Honors will be provided by the Georgia National Honor Guard and V.F.W Post # 4346
Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens
