Marjorie M. Hill Goolsbay was born October 6, 1935, at Monmouth, Illinois, and passed away on October 14, 2023, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Marjorie passed gently from this earth with her partner and husband of 50 years and 7 months, holding her hand as he had promised.
Her favorite things were babies, spinning her own yarn, knitting, weaving, quilting, and cooking Everyone loved her cooking.
She moved to McAllen, Texas, and at the completion of high school was granted a music scholarship to the university of Montana. She was proficient in piano, organ, and had an amazing voice. She moved back to Texas again and had a chance meeting with Karl at 2:00AM on April 1, 1971. She received a degree in informational technology from the University of Tulsa. She was employed at Citgo Petroleum waking her way up to IT Manager.
She is survived by her husband Karl G. Goolsbay, Sr. of Bartlesville; three children: Leslie Chambliss of Broken Arrow, OK, Frank Ray of Hectorville, OK, and Nancy Hatch of Layon, UH; her stepsons Geoff Goolsbay of Broken Arrow, OK, and Michael Goolsbay of Broken Arrow, OK; 13 grandchildren and 14 grandchildren; and many, many friends.
Everyone who ever met Marjorie was her friend. Her last thoughts were "God will turn our morning into joy. See you in the morning."
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, from 5pm until 7pm at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 2pm at Ochelata Cemetery in Ochelata, OK, and is under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
