Marjorie P. Schwenke, 71, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, with her family lovingly by her side. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her passing.
Marjorie "Marge" Schwenke was born on August 11, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marge is survived by her loving husband Roger Schwenke, and their three children: Shannon, Mark (Laura), and Greg. She is also survived by her siblings Patrick Murphy, Michael (Pam) Murphy, Timothy (Sally) Murphy, John (Lori) Richards, Maureen (Patrick) Harrigan, Andrew (Jeanne) Murphy, and sister-in-law Ruthanne Piechocki. Her memory lives on with her grandchildren Jacob Mauer, Justyce Renz, Addison, Stella, and Brecken Schwenke. Marge was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Florence Murphy, her birth mother Marjorie Elmer, her brother Thomas Piechocki, her sister-in-law Elda "Blondie" Murphy, her brother-in-law Steven Schwenke, and her nephew Paul Murphy.
Marge and Roger met at a typical Wisconsin bar and after a short six-month engagement, they spent 51 beautiful years of marriage together. Marge enjoyed hosting family and friends at their home in Oconomowoc that has been in the family for nearly 70 years. You will often see the Irish flag hanging outside their home in March in honor of St. Patrick's day and their wedding anniversary. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Marge, like spending time with Roger at their camper together and being with her grandchildren. She loved gardening, hunting for antiques, reading on her kindle, and drinking her Pure Leaf tea. You could also find Marge enjoying the occasional Brandy Old Fashioned or Twisted Tea.
An open visitation is scheduled from 10am–12pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church (995 S. Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc) on Friday, February 2nd with funeral service and burial ceremony immediately following.
"We pray for comfort and strength in our grief, as we mourn the loss of our beloved departed. Grant us the grace to find healing and peace, and to cherish their memory with love and gratitude". ~An Irish Blessing
