A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Christ Community Church with Chauncey Spencer officiating. Private burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox
Marjorie was born on August 11, 1952 in Jamestown, New York to Leon Harland Covey and Mavis Allene Sisson Covey. She earned her associates degree in nursing. She had worked as an R.N. at the Naval hospital and various hospitals and nursing homes in Cleveland, Detroit, Dallas, and Desoto. She married Lewis Thompson on September 6, 1976 in Jamestown, New York. They moved to Dumas in 2015 after retirement. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Dumas. She loved to read, send out cards, and spend time with her ladies group at Christ Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Thompson of Dumas; and three sisters, Lottie Abers, Christine Benson, and Julia Covey, all of New York.
