Mark P. Boynton of Waltham died Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. He was 64.

Born on January 22, 1961, in Waltham, Mark was the son of the late Matthias and Lucille (LaFerriere) Boynton. He graduated from Waltham High School and later established Boynton Machine Company in Waltham in 1993. He dedicated himself to the shop for many years, owning and operating it with unwavering commitment.

Mark was a gentle soul with a kind heart and a generous spirit. He possessed a great sense of humor and often delighted friends and family with his signature long winded dad jokes. He was a member of the Charles River Yacht Club where he enjoyed spending his free time boating and fishing. Growing up, he cherished vacations at the family cottage in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Later, he created many happy memories by taking his own family on vacations to Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport Maine.

Mark is survived by his wife, Laura, and their children, Courtney Bourne (Jessica) of Waltham, Matthew Boynton (Cassandra Savalier) of Chestnut Hill, and Reece Boynton (Emily Goupil) of Dover, New Hampshire; his brother, Matthias Boynton, and his niece, Amanda and nephew, Dillon.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mark‘s life by gathering for a Wake in the Joyce Funeral Home at 245 Main St., Waltham on Tuesday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
