Word of Mark's passing profoundly saddened and unsettled me...For twenty years, we worked side by side...He was an outstanding boss, generous in sharing his knowledge and opinion and honest in every criticism and compliment...I can still picture him standing behind his desk, reading a rough draft or reviewing page layouts, twirling his finger around a lock of hair at the nape of his neck. I am filled with fond memories and deep appreciation. It was a joy and privilege to have known Mark professionally, as a mentor and colleague, and personally, as a friend. I send my sincerest condolences to Mark's family and friends, and to all whose lives he touched.
