It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Allen Dodson, fondly known as Gator, on February 24, 2025. Born on September 5, 1956, in Indianapolis, Mark was a beacon of love and support to his family and friends. His humble nature and steadfast loyalty will forever be remembered and cherished by those he left behind. His life was a testament to the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
Gator, a loving husband and son, resided in St. Paul, Indiana for 40 years. He married the love of his life, Tammy Dodson, on October 31, 1980. Mark's dedication to his family was unparalleled, and what mattered most to him was his wife and family. He was a retired forklift driver from Knauf Fiber Glass in Shelbyville, where he dutifully served until his retirement in 2014. His commitment to his work was as strong as his commitment to his loved ones.
Mark is survived by his father, Daniel Dodson, his devoted wife, Tammy Dodson, 2 children; Mark Dodson Jr. (Priscilla), and Nikisha Isenberg, 7 grandchildren; Kylee Isenberg, Brooke Dodson, Walker Dodson, Hunter Dodson, Malachi McEwan, Kaiser McEwan, Faith Dodson, sister, Esther Gott, and a brother, Errol Dodson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dodson.
Due to illness in the family, services for Mark have been canceled until a later date.
As we bid farewell to Mark, we invite all who knew him to share their memories and upload photos on the memorial page. His legacy of love, support, and loyalty will forever remain etched in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Mark Dodson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Love you always Mark. We had a hard time growing up but you were always healing with me and we shared so much. I know you loved me, Tammy, your kids and Grandkids. You had your best friend VD too and he was special to you. I remember your stories you shared with me. I appreciate VD being there for you. You are free now from pain and suffering so fly high with Errol. (Seasons in the sun), was your favorite song so I keep that with you in my heart. Always and forever.
