Mark was born on October 14, 1986 in Houston, Texas. Mark was a bright, joyful, and sweet child full of energy and curiosity. He graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School, and went on to pursue higher education at HCC, and University of Houston, and TSU.
During his young adulthood, Mark faced the beginning of a lifelong struggle with mental illness-a battle he met with quiet strength and resilience. Mark found comfort in the peace of his home. He was especially fond of his loyal dog, Lepa, and found joy in music, often creating a world of calm and creativity for himself through sound and rhythm.
Mark entered eternal rest with our Lord on June 24, 2025. His life reminds us of the importance of empathy, understanding, and care for those who face struggles we may not always see. Though his time here was far too short, his light, love, and courage lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his father, Lorenzo P. Duran; mother, Cristina Rivera; sister, Angelica Ybarra; sister, Alexis Rivera; and grandfather, Juan Jose Ramirez. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmothers, Florinda Ramirez and Sofia Duran, and his grandfather, Miguel Duran. Mark also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory always.
