Mark David Hawkins

Mark David Hawkins, age 79, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his home in Dublin, OH. He was born on February 26, 1945, to Robert and Ruth (nee: Osmond) Hawkins in Pittsburgh, PA. He grew up on the family farm in Munson Twp. and was a 1963 Graduate of Chardon High School. Mark then went to Mount Union College (now the University of Mount Union), in Alliance, OH, joining the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1967. He followed with graduate work at both Rice University and The Ohio State University.
On July 29, 1972, Mark married his beloved MaryKay Roslund in East Liverpool, Ohio, a union marked by unwavering love, mutual respect, and shared adventures.
Mark was known for being very gregarious and people loved being around him for his humor, intellect and his generosity. He enjoyed telling jokes and would mail jokes to his friends and family. Mark loved trap shooting, hunting, fishing and golf.
He is survived by his wife, MaryKay Hawkins; sister, Nancy Gary of Munson Twp.; brother, Timothy (Debbie) of Munson Twp; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard Gary.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, Ohio 44024.
