Mark Liberty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. - Peru on May 19, 2024.
Mark Edward Liberty peacefully passed away in his home on May 18th after a battle with brain cancer.
He was born on December 4th, 1955 to Lawrence and Martha Liberty in Plattsburgh NY.
Mark has several loved ones who will carry on his memory including his siblings, Larietta (Glenn Hamel), Albert (Julie Liberty), Jeff (Diane Liberty), Maxine (Kenny Carter) and Robert (Robin Liberty); his children, Nathan (Lisa Liberty) and Jesse (Kevin Murnane) and his wife of 45 years Patricia "Patsy" Liberty. As well as several nieces and nephews and cousins he loves so much as well.
Mark was greeted in his new journey by his loved ones who have passed before him including his siblings Kay Oliver, Bonnie Newell, Chuck Crawford, Jean Lee Reil, and Tammy Liberty, as well as both of his parents, including his father who he lost when he was 3 years old.
Mark dedicated his life to family. He was the son and sibling we all want. The one you can call in the middle of the day or night if you need anything done. He spent a lot of time with his brothers in both work and in pleasure- often working on projects or fishing and hunting. When Mark was 24 he married the love of his life Patricia Liberty and then started his own family having two children, Nathan Liberty and Jessica Liberty -10 months apart. He worked hard to provide for his wife and children. He built their home with his own hands and cleared the land to make a beautiful place for all of them to enjoy. He is the dad and husband we all want, always showing up and never letting them down. Mark loved spending time with friends and family at his house with Patsy by his side cooking for everyone (especially the clam chowder). He made everyone feel special. Whether it was learning from his son Nathan about something new in his cannabis business or playing endless games of corn hole with his son in law Kevin Murnane, or playing with one of his grandkids, Braeden, Brynn, Gavin, Willow, Scarlett and Kat. Mark truly knew how to just become someone's favorite person and made it look easy.
Mark has the character of all heroes in every movie you've watched. He has a sparkle in his eye and grit to his face that tells you he can get any job done and most likely do it better than anyone else. He has a true passion for fishing and hunting, he would spend most of any free time he had (between jobs and projects) in nature. Whether it was on the ice during the winter or on his boat with his brother Jeff, or best fishing buddies Lance and Rick- the man talked about fishing right until the end. Hunting was also a passion, teaching his kids and grandkids to shoot a bow, climb a tree stand, hike in the woods, call in a deer or turkey. You name it, he taught them. He would spend his hunting season planning his downstate trip to his beloved hunting family, Bill and Sherrie Frazier and would be so excited to go every year with all of moms home cooked meals packed up to go.
There will never be a moment his large family and friends will not think of him and remember all he was and look forward to meeting him again in whatever next adventure awaits us all.
Mark did not want any wake or funeral but instead would prefer for you to remember him for who he was as a dad, husband, brother and friend. He would want us all to try our best to be that same kind of human being. The family will be planning a remembrance celebration at a later time.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
