Mark Alan Lloyd, 69 years of age, passed away suddenly in Raleigh, NC on September 26th, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents John Davis Lloyd Sr. and Evelyn Herring Lloyd of Charlottesville, VA. He is survived by his sister Alma Jane Haar 87 and his brother John Lloyd 81 both of Charlottesville, VA. As well as his wife of 46 years, Susan O. Lloyd 69 of Raleigh, NC and 3 children; Nathaniel Mark Lloyd 42 (Julien) of NYC, NY; Katherine Lloyd O'Laughlin 39 (Jeff) of Raleigh, NC; Jamison Alan Lloyd 33 (Amy) of Asheville, NC. Grandfather of 7: Teddy 7, Ben 5, Jackson 3, Chandler 3, Lily 1, Camden 8 Months, and Christopher 1 Month.

Mark Lloyd was born and raised in Charlottesville, VA and enjoyed summers in Deltaville, VA fishing with his dad. He moved to Harrisonburg, VA in 1974 to open his first Lloyd's Hallmark Shop where he met his wife, Susan. They moved to Richmond, VA in 1978 where he owned and operated 8 Lloyd's Hallmark stores for 47 years. Mark was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Richmond, VA where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and helped with many youth programs.

Mark Lloyd was a man of faith, family man, fisherman, and handy man who loved a good joke, eclectic music, and ice cream. He retired in 2021, to move to the Raleigh area to be close to his expanding family of grandchildren where he loved to babysit and play. His wife, Sue, never left his side in all his endeavors from working in the stores to babysitting grandchildren to clearing out his property or just watching a good movie. All who knew him have said he brought a smile to their face.

Yesterday

To the Lloyd family, our high school family (Rock Hill, Charlottesville) is so sorry to hear of dear Mark's passing. We all thought the world of him. He was a wonderful gymnast, classmate and just a beautiful, funny man. And always stylish (He wore suits to class sometimes!) I can speak for everyone who knew him, just a great guy. My sincerest of sympathy to all of you precious Lloyd's. God bless and be with you.
