Mark Haywood McAllister, 49, died unexpectedly on August 20, 2025, in Silver City, New Mexico, where he had been living since 2021. He was born to David and Susan (nee Brandner) McAllister on January 25, 1976, in Columbia, Missouri. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota from the time he was three years old until he graduated from Southwest High School in that city in 1994.
He attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales for one year, before moving to Albuquerque, where he resided until moving to Silver City. He briefly attended the University of New Mexico. He was a server in several Albuquerque restaurants for many years.
His mother preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his daughters, Mallory and Ruby McAllister of Albuquerque; his father, David McAllister of Mankato, Minnesota; his brother, Michael McAllister of San Francisco, California; and his uncle, Don McAllister of Anderson, Indiana.
Mark will be remembered for his zest for life, his smile, his keen interest in politics and the Minnesota Vikings, and his great love for his daughters. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
