MARK ALLEN MEEKS
COX FUNERAL HOME
BASTROP, LOUISIANA
CHOUDRANT, LA. Mark Allen Meeks was born February 5, 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Henry Jasper Meeks and Myrtle Meeks. He passed away following a brief illness on January 27, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. Along with his parents Mark is preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Marvin Meeks, Henry J. Meeks, Jr., Lee Roy Emanuel, and Louie Allen Emanuel.
Mark attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant, Louisiana and was employed by Halliburton Energy Services for 48 years as a Diesel Mechanic III. During his employment Mark travelled the world working in the oil fields. He made many lasting impressions and lifelong friendships with his work family. Always a prankster and a jokester, he will be missed by all fortunate to know him.
Mark is survived by his wife, Shelly May Martin; daughters, CoraLynn Renee Meeks and Tiffany Meeks Bourgeois and husband Caleb, and a son, Zachary Adam Meeks, step son, Kile Edward Martin, step daughter, Maggie Mae Martin, step son, Dale Lee Martin. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Margaret Strickland and her husband Richard, Fay Meeks Brown, and Kay Meeks Yarberry.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana on Saturday, February 1, 2025 beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 2nd, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Bro. Glen Hutchison officiating followed by burial at the Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Serving the family as pallbearers are Joey Guajardo, Justin Siewert, Zachary Meeks, Dale Martin, Tommy Scroggins, and Mike Scroggins.
