Mark Patrick Rose, age 64, of Grayson, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 12th, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Rose JR and Coral Ives Rose. Mark is survived by his stepmother, Ladelle (Donnie) of Clemson, SC; sisters, Sandra of Grayson, GA, Sharon Edwards (Terry) of Hopkins, SC, Misty Gilleland (Gary) of Sandy Springs, SC; brothers, John Rose (Debbie) of Lilburn. GA, Adam Rose of Anderson, SC, Joshua Rose of Clemson, SC and Austin Rose (Chasity) of Anderson, SC.
Mark cherished his family that included nieces and nephews, Summer Burtchaell (Chris) of Loganville, GA, Wendy Parrish (Wes) of Irmo, SC, Daniel Rose (Kelsi) of Acworth, GA and Danielle. Plus, a host of great nephews.
Mark was born at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, LA in July of 1961 to a military family. He moved often in his early years. After High School in Centerville, Ohio, he became a proud member of The United States Marine Corps. He served his country in several locations overseas such as Japan, S. Korea, The Philippines and several US bases. He flew the United States Stars and Stripes alongside the Marine Corps flag prominently at every opportunity.
Mark enjoyed all sports. He volunteered his time and knowledge coaching youth sports over 15 seasons. Mark was passionate about spending his time outdoors, preferably in the woods. He never missed family events and holidays. He was a kind and gentle soul that everyone honored and respected.
Although he is in a better place now, he will be missed and never forgotten by the many who enjoyed his friendship.
The family is planning a "Celebration of Life" event sometime in November for family and friends, so please check back for service times.
