Mark Bradley Tippens, Jr., 48, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 10, 2025. Born on January 5, 1977, in Atlanta, he was the son of Mark Tippens, Sr. and Linda Shepard Tippens.
He is survived by his parents; his sister, Amanda Tippens Hubbard (Don); his nieces and nephews, Izabella Hubbard Devlin (Chris), Thomas Hubbard, Jeremiah Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard (Kasey); and his great-niece and nephews, Savannah, Luke, and Wyatt.
Mark had many names. To his family, he was Markie or Farkie or Farkie J Jr. He was later called his mother's Angel Baby. And he was! To his sister whom he adored, he was Bub or Bubbie. This later became Uncle Bubbie to his nieces and nephews. He was their favorite uncle! His love for his family surpassed by nothing. Family was first!
To the Marine Corps, he was Sgt. Mark Tippens, Jr. To his Marine Corps buddies, he was Tippy. Mark proudly served his country from 1995 to 2001. After serving in Okinawa, Japan, he returned to Parris Island as a Range Coach Primary Marksman Instructor. Mark loved the Corps.
Mark had many friends from many walks of life. Each and every one had a very special place in his heart. Mark had an intense love of history, especially Southern history. He studied history, was taught history in his upbringing, and was active in preserving history. Mark was also a musician. From an early age with a small little drum meant to torment his mother, he became quite the drummer. Mark was a complex, intelligent, funny, loving person. He will be remembered, loved, and missed forever.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 6 - 8 pm at McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mark ,
We were there
You know that.
Maddy and I drove up and watched your service from the car.
You had your military salute and it was beautiful.
You loved it I'm sure.
To the most caring , beautiful person
I've ever met.
I'll miss you
I'll miss you making your "mud balls"
Showing me the rocks you found and kept from where ever you were that day
Beating on those dang drums
And teaching Maddy how to beat on them too and play her guitar we gave her.
I'll miss complaining that you were always covered in mud and tracked dirt everywhere because well you always did lol.
I'll miss hearing your stories and you telling me about the book your currently reading.
I'll miss calling you everyday all day until I drive up to pick you up or see you after you get off work.
Ill miss everything big and small
Good and bad
I'll miss you always
You are such a big part of my life
Maddys life
We love you
