Mark Alan Tittle, 56

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Mark Alan Tittle, 56, beloved Dad, PawPaw, and brother, died September 21, 2025 at his residence in Ocala, FL. Mark died unexpectedly, having succumbed to a private battle with the effects of Huntington’s Disease and other health challenges. He lived fully and with immense vitality despite the relentless progression of the hereditary diseases that brought continuous difficulties. He far exceeded all of the medical expectations of his lifespan, and never stopped setting his own course.

Mark found his greatest joy in his step-daughters and their children, for whom he was a devoted daily fixture and beloved Dad and PawPaw. He treasured every moment spent in school carlines, teacher conferences, sports, dance, and family outings, doting most recently on grandson, Leo, and their shared love of football. Mark could regularly be seen bustling around Ocala, speed-walking with his quad cane between the commutes of his daily routine.

He will be also be remembered for his quick wit, keen intelligence, story-telling, talents in geography, and love of Sherlock Holmes and campy horror flicks (the slashier the better!)—endearing qualities that his failing health could never diminish.

Mark earned his juris doctorate from the Fredric G. Levin College of Law, University of Florida in 1996. He graduated with honors from Florida State University in 1992. Mark entered college a few years after dropping out of high school at 16, and was deeply proud of his academic achievements. A few years after becoming an attorney, Mark was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease and had to leave the profession. He continued onward, however, finding respite at home with his Mom, Drollene, and the rest of his family. He found love again in his wife, Maria, with whom he spent many happy years, and loving meaningfulness in her children.

Born in Indianapolis on March 29, 1969, Mark was adopted as an infant by sociology professors at the University of Indiana. The family soon moved to Florida where they adopted a daughter. Mark lived in Florida throughout his life, preferring beach trips and freshwater springs to snow.

He is survived by his loving sister, Shauna Diaz (Alberto), his niece, Havily; his beloved step-daughters, Brittany Ray (Stephon), and Katelyn Ireland (PJ); step-son Austin; his grandchildren Joclyn, Leo Jr, Jaylynn, Jaliyah, Liniyah, Legend, and Nova; their mother, Maria; aunts Betty Korematsu (Mas) and Sharon Reynolds; and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Drollene Plattner Brown and Charles R. Tittle; grandparents, Wilson William & Evelyn Plattner and Clovis & Chloie Tittle.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, Florida.
