Mark Julian Westbury, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born on February 13, 1954, in Texarkana, Texas, to Leon and Roberta (Nunn) Westbury. He was a graduate of Putnam City West High School, where he met the love of his life Jayne (Morgeson) Westbury. He married Jayne on September 29, 1973. The couple had one child, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, as well as several others who called him "Papa." He accepted them all as his own.
Mark is survived by his son, Brett and wife Daphne; grandkids, Cameron (Kailee), Brandon, Brianna (Carl), Jon, and Gianna; and his great-grandkids, William and Blaze. He is also survived by his brother, Frank (Linda). He was preceded in death by his wife, Jayne; parents, Leon and Roberta; and brothers, Larry and Mike.
Mark joined the Air Force in June of 1976 and retired in June of 1996. He spent some time working overseas as a civilian after retirement.
In his early days, Mark loved hunting and fishing. He also had a love for drawing and playing his guitar. Other hobbies include restoring guitars, making paracord bracelets, and working on his truck.
He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns even when they had a bad season.
He will forever be remembered for his smile, his witty comments and laugh. He will forever be missed for his loving heart, kindness, and his acceptance to all.
Services will be Thursday, February 9, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma.

My husband and I were good friends with Mark in our Christian youth group at church. He was always so kind and thoughtful of everyone in our group. He was a fun guy to be with and he loved playing his guitar with the other guys, singing Christian songs in various churches. He will always have a special place in my heart. We each lost track of one another after high school but recently he connected up with me on Facebook. He will be missed.
