Marlene (DiBlasi) (DeCoste) Bronk, 72, passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2025, in Florida. Born on January 4, 1953, in Everett, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Gambale) DiBlasi.
Marlene was raised in Chelsea, where she graduated from Chelsea High School in 1970. Following her passion for helping others, she earned her LPN license through the prestigious program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her nursing career began at the Chelsea Soldiers' Home, and she went on to provide care and compassion at MediPlex in East Boston and BayRidge Hospital in Lynn for many years.
In her later years, Marlene found great joy in volunteering at the Melrose Day Care, where she delighted children with her warmth and storytelling during story time. She was also a vibrant member of the Peabody Senior Center, where she sang in the chorus. She enjoyed time spent with her friends in her bowling league, and had a love of fashion. Marlene had a special talent for accessorizing and always looked her best, especially during the holidays.
Above all, Marlene was a woman of warmth and kindness, known for her radiant smile and deep love for her family, her friends, and her faith.
She will be deeply missed by her children: George Travis of Revere, Melissa Brown of Beverly, and Amy DeCoste of Stoneham; her seven beloved grandchildren: Richard, Joseph, Alexis, Olivia, Kylie, George, and Evan; and her sister, Karen Fossett. She also leaves several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherish her memory.
She was predeceased by her brother, John DiBlasi.
Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00AM until 9:45AM.
