Marlene Joyce Fogarty

Marlene J. Fogarty, age 82, of Rensselaer, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
She was born on April 27, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James and Della (Pallanti) Patton. Marlene graduated from cosmetology school and earned her beautician's license. On June 18, 1965, she married the love of her life, Michael F. Fogarty, who preceded her in death on September 17, 2018.
Marlene was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was also active in her community, serving with the Jasper County Historical Society, the Red Hat Club, and the Jasper County Library Book Club. A city girl at heart, Marlene embraced life in Rensselaer and truly came to love her community. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and giving her time generously to others. Her kind spirit and willingness to help anyone in need will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynette (Darrell) Osman of Rensselaer, IN, and Bernadette (Richard) Dingman of Knox, IN; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael, and one brother.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. CT at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. CT at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joshua Bennett officiating. Interment will take place at Saint Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
