Marlene Elaine Gaden, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on, Monday, December 9, 2024, having touched the lives of many with her vibrant personality and zest for life.
Marlene was born on January 12, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Robert and Lucille (Neinfeldt) Moll. She was a woman of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life-whether it was spending time with family and friends, riding her motorcycle, cheering for the Packers, or mowing acres of lawn in the beautiful Wisconsin weather. A woman of style, Marlene always ensured her outfits were perfectly coordinated, reflecting her impeccable taste. Her adventurous spirit was evident through her love for motorcycles, a passion she nurtured since she was 16. She enjoyed family vacations, traveling across the State of Wisconsin on motorcycles, remain among the most cherished memories of her life.
Marlene was a distinguished professional, deeply dedicated to her work. In 1972, she began her career as a teller and bookkeeper at Ahdawagam Credit Union, eventually becoming Vice President. In 1997, when Ahdawagam and Biron Credit Unions merged to form Members Advantage Credit Union, she continued in her role as Vice President until her retirement in 2003. Marlene's commitment to service extended beyond her career to her active involvement in the local community. She was a devoted member of the Saratoga Moravian Church for several years, where she contributed as a Sunday school teacher, singing in the choir, a participant in Christmas caroling, as well as the annual Chicken Soup Supper, Easter breakfast, and Strawberry Social. Her community spirit was also evident throughout her life having memberships with the Rapid Angels Motorcycle Club, the Motor Maids of WI, the Central Wisconsin Harness Club, and the Saratoga UTV-ATV Club.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Vicki Alft and her husband John; her sister, Shelveadean Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her loyal companion, Albert (Alby) Einstein, her beloved dog, will also miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille Moll; her brother-in-law, Richard Anderson; and her nephew, Kevin Anderson.
Marlene's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. We welcome all who knew Marlene to share their memories, stories, and photos on the memorial page. This is not just a page, but a place where Marlene's spirit continues to inspire us, reminding us of the value of our community, the joy in each day, and the importance of living life to its fullest. In honor of Marlene's wishes, no funeral services will be held. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Marlene's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Edenbrook of Wisconsin Rapids for the exceptional care she received during her stay since May, to Compassus for providing excellent hospice care since December 5th, and to Nekoosa Court for their kind and compassionate care during her three years of residence prior to her transfer to Edenbrook.
