Joy E. Berg, age 74, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Arborview Court in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Joy was born on November 15, 1950, in Wisconsin Rapids to B. Arthur and Marguerite (Vehrs) Berg. Joy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968, then earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and later a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.

Following her education, Joy joined the Peace Corps and served for two years in Ghana, West Africa. She then began her long career with the U.S. Forest Service, serving various National Forests. She managed fire crews and dedicated herself to protecting natural resources. Joy retired in 2005 and returned to Wisconsin Rapids to be closer to her family.

While serving in Ghana, Joy discovered her love for weaving- a craft that grew into a lifelong passion. Joy created countless yards of fabric throughout her life. She also found joy in her beloved African Grey parrot, Psitta, who was truly part of her family. Joy was active in her community as a supporter of both Rotary and the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center.

Joy is survived by her sisters, Kaaren (Tom) Brehmer, Kristin Kulinski, and Wendy (John) Dolan; nieces and nephews, Mark (Traci) Brehmer, Anne (Tim) Sanford, Alice Kulinski, Amanda Joy (Torrance Beavers) Kulinski, Julie Bouille, Mark Baldwin III, Molly Baehr, and Carly (Kyle Schmelz) Baehr; her beloved parrot, Psitta; and several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jill Baldwin and Heidi Berg; nephew, Matt Baldwin; and brother-in-law, Donald Kulinski.

The family would like to thank the staff of Arborview and St. Croix Hospice for the fabulous care Joy received.

A celebration of life will be held on Joy's birthday, November 15, 2025. The family will share details at a later date.
