Marlene Josephine (née Smukowski) Prahl, age 86, passed away April 22, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Walter and Faye (Korda) Smukowski.
Marlene was raised in Milwaukee, WI, graduating from Pulaski High School. She retired as Vice President of Badger Savings, Milwaukee, after 38 years of service. On February 9, 1963, she married the love of her life R.E Prahl in Wauwatosa, WI. They became full time residents of Three Lakes, WI in 1991.
She was known for her love of animals and birds, and thoroughly enjoyed the northwoods. She was a member of the Three Lakes Women's Club, Three Lakes Boat Club, and Hodag Lions Club.
Marlene is survived by her brother Gordon (Deanne) Smukowski, niece Gwen (Gary) Hosters, nephew Wally (Theresa) Smukowski, and many other wonderful relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband R.E Prahl, parents, her in-laws Elmer and Adele (Heese) Prahl, brother in-law Tom Prahl, nieces Gail Meier and Gina Burns, and special cousin and friend Camille Ripple.
The family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Marlene's dear friends Valerie and Terry Abrams, Cathie and Rich Collins, and Ann Kuntzsch for their continued support and companionship throughout her life. We would also like to thank all those that supported her throughout her dialysis journey.
At her request, no services will be held as what mattered more to her were the happy memories of times shared together that she hoped would provide joy at the time of her passing. There will be a private burial for close friends and family at a later date.
