Marlene Bernadette Vetsch, age 90, of St. Michael, Minnesota, passed away peacefully March 29th, 2025 at the Legacy of St. Michael.
Marlene was born December 10, 1934, in Otsego township. She grew up on a farm, the eighth of nine children to Rudolph S. Roden and Anna Agnes (Kirscht) Roden.
Marlene attended high school in Elk River, MN, where she graduated in 1952.
On May 14, 1955, Marlene married Orville Anthony Vetsch at St. Albert's Church in Albertville, MN. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage and raised six children together: Russell, Greg, LuAnn, Rollie, Jean and Jeff. Marlene's family finds peace in knowing that she is once again beside the love of her life, her sweet Orville.
Marlene will be remembered for her fun-loving, hardworking, quick-witted, tell it like it is personality. Some of Marlene's favorite things included gardening and canning. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who demonstrated her enduring love for her family through her baking, and for that we were all very fortunate. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she created many warm and special memories of the holidays for her children.
She and Orville had many traveling adventures throughout the years, and together they were a part of many card clubs. She enjoyed this time with friends and was always up for a game of cards with her children and grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by husband Orville, her parents Rudolph and Anna Roden, siblings Gerald (Eleanor) Roden, Clifford (Pearl) Roden, Lucille (Victor) Weinzetl, Erwin Roden, Eleanor Nash, Bernard (Judy) Roden and Delrose (Richard) Bender, and many brothers and sisters in-law.
She is survived by children Russell (Lynn) Vetsch of Annandale, Greg (Roxanne) Vetsch of St. Michael, LuAnn (Reginald) Zachman of St. Michael, Rollie (Jill) Vetsch) of Big Lake, Jeannie (Steve) Krush of Sartell, Jeff (Anne Dybsetter) Vetsch of New London, her brother Ronald (Nancy), sister-in-law Loretta Roden, brother-in-law Jim Nash, sister-in-law Nona Lindenfelser, brother-in-law Earl (Joan) Vetsch, brother-in-law Fred (Alice Vetsch), sister-in-law Diane (Duane) Kemmetmueller, and dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
