Marlyn J. Geesey, 88, of York Township, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 9, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Doris J. (Hunter) Geesey, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage of more than 67 years.
Born in York on November 15, 1936, Marlyn was the only child of the late Arthur H. and Mamie M. (Weitkamp) Geesey. He dedicated much of his life to his family and work, retiring from Johnson Controls after 32 years of service in the quality control department.
A long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church of Spry, Marlyn's faith was central to his life. He also had a deep passion for trains, both in model form and prototypes. His love for railroads led him to become an active member of the Lancaster Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, where he shared his enthusiasm with others.
In addition to his loving wife Doris, Marlyn is survived by his son Bryan J. Geesey and his companion Eileen; granddaughter Jenifer M. Moody and her husband Tyler; grandson Steven J. Swope and his wife Alexis; as well as his cherished great-grandchildren: Alexis Counterman, Brianna Geesey, Elija A. Sipe, Kourtney Sipe, Kaitlyn Sipe, Xavier Geesey, Emily Geesey, Kandyce Geesey, and Arabella Swope. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Joseph, Wyatt, Luka, Nora, and Atlas, along with nieces and nephews.
Marlyn's family, friends, and all who knew him will remember him fondly for his gentle spirit, unwavering devotion to his family, and his enthusiasm for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 -11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church of Spry, 2385 S. Queen S., York, PA 17402, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. With the Rev. James Polanzke officiating. Burial will be private.
Services are under the care of the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., Dallastown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church of Spry.

My first memory was on a bus headed to Montreal, Canada with the Lancaster Chapter NRHS and I spilled a bag of cookies in his lap. He called me "Cookie" for the remainder of the trip.
We became wonderful friends with Marlyn and Doris, sharing many trips, visits and wonderful memories. We Love you "Sonny" and will miss you greatly but cherish our friendship and memories . Cindy & Glenn Kendig
