Our beloved Marquis Lemar Newson departed this life and entered eternal life, Monday February 5, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on June 21, 1989 in Springfield, Massachusetts to parents Lucey Newson and Elvis Scott. Marquis, attended Springfield and Chicopee public schools as well as held various jobs around the city throughout the years.
He was one of the silliest and most playful person you would ever encounter and always greeted you with an unforgettable smile. If you ever needed a good laugh he was the one to give you one. He had a love for sports, particularly baseball as well as basketball. He also held an unwavering love for music which turned out to be a deep passion of his. As the middle child, he was not only very protective over his siblings but always there when they needed him. This prepared him for the biggest role he would take on yet, fatherhood.
Marquis was a loving, dedicated and committed father to Laniya Newson and Schyson Newson whom he leaves behind. The two reasons for his being, he took pride in being a father and loved his children more than life itself. He enjoyed and lived life to its fullest potential being sure to never take anything for granted.
Predeceased by maternal grandparents Albert and Lillie Mae Newson, he leaves behind brothers Teria Newson and Diamante Seguin as well as sister Evette Scott-Ramsey. Two nephews, Elias Seguin and Amenidel Pequese Newson. Four nieces, Jadalyse and Riley Seguin and Jayalexia and Alexia Ramsey.
He also leaves behind close aunts Mary Crapps, Dorothy Crapps and Brenda Scott as well as very close uncles Aaron, Anthony,David and Perry Newson. A special friend Latoya and a host of other family and friends to cherish and honor his memory.
