Marsha Ann Rollins Cable, age 76, widow of Ed Cable, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, surrounded by family. Born August 27, 1949, in Jeff, Kentucky, Marsha was the daughter of the late Marshall and Irene Rollins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Rollins, and her sister, Connie Rollins. Marsha is survived by her daughter, Amber (Floyd) Waldrop of Lexington, and her son, Steven (Julie) Cable of Winchester. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren - Anna and Lydia Waldrop of Lexington; Siera, Corey, and Dayle Cable of Georgia; and two great-grandchildren, Walker and Wilder. She is also survived by her special nephews, Kevin Bryant, Adam Rollins, and Scott Rollins, and her faithful dog, Willie. Marsha grew up in Jeff, Kentucky, and attended Eastern Kentucky University. On Jan 10, 1969, she went on a blind date with Ed Cable - the beginning of a love story that would span 53 years of marriage. Just one month after meeting, they married, and their life together was full of laughter, hard work, and devotion. Marsha later returned to the University of Kentucky to complete her degree in health care administration and devoted her career to serving others as an activity director and administrator at several nursing homes. Her career concluded with 16 years of service at Mayfair Village, where she formed deep bonds with residents and staff alike. After retiring, Marsha and Ed returned to Eastern Kentucky, where they built a cabin together and enjoyed raising chickens and welcoming family and friends for visits filled with stories, laughter, and good food. Later in life, Marsha fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an actress. She found great joy on the stage, performing in The Diviners, Steel Magnolias, and numerous church plays. Her love for the arts brought her new friendships and a bright sense of purpose. Above all, Marsha was known for her servant's heart. She loved to help others, to cook for her family and friends, and to make everyone feel at home in her presence. Her warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, service, and joy - and those who knew her will carry her light in their hearts forever.
