Marsha R. Foster

(nee Sorensen)

"Marsha Foster, a sister, mother, grandmother, friend and independent spirit, passed away on July 17, 2025, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, at the age of 76. Born on June 3, 1949, in Rochester, Minnesota, Marsha's journey was marked by her tenacity, hard work, and a sense of generosity that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Marsha's professional life was a testament to her strong work ethic and determination. She began her career at Wisconsin Bell, initially serving as a telephone operator. With unwavering dedication, she navigated the challenges of raising three children on her own, all while advancing her career to the position of AT&T field engineer. After a well-earned retirement, Marsha found joy in a second chapter driving vehicles for Griffin Ford.

Outside the office, Marsha was known for her hands-on approach to life. Her home was a showcase of her many talents, from the meticulous garden that bloomed with her love and care to the various home repair projects she skillfully completed. Her daughters, Adell James and Heather Holzer, fondly recall their mother's fearless spirit, whether she was tackling a challenging DIY task or driving across the state to pick up or drop off a vehicle at some far-flung Ford dealership.

She found joy and relaxation in the simple pleasure of going to the movies with friends or family members, or a sister's trip to the casino.

Loving mother of Adell "Hidie" (Greg) James, Heather Holzer and the late Tim Holzer. Dear grandmother of Chelsea (Adam) Becker, Frederick "Rick" (Skylar) Dieball, Micheal Dieball, Jami (Ryan) Ulrich and Dylan Kay. Proud great-grandmother of Levi, Clara, Annabelle, Beckett, and Charlotte "Charlie". Dear sister of Margaret "Marge" (Ken) Long, Melinda Sorensen, Jackie Riesing, Jill Johnson (Mike) DeLuca, Sandy Johnson, Sally Werchowski, and James "Jimmy" Johnson. Also remembered by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Maxine (nee Ingalls) Sorensen and her brothers, Roger and Raymond Sorensen.

As we bid farewell to Marsha, we hold on to the memories and values she imparted, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come."

Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, July 31, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha, from 4-6 PM.
