Marsha Lee Shaffer, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2024. She was born to Doris (Tripp) Lee and Dean Street Lee on August 28, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

She grew up in Layton, Utah and graduated from Davis High School in 1969. She enjoyed theatre in High School and performed in plays such as Pillow Talk. She attended Brigham Young University for a year until she was called to serve on an LDS Mission in Riverside California. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She worked at the Church office building in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met and soon after married Bruce Ken Shaffer on May 7, 1976, they later divorced. They have a daughter Rebecca (Shaffer) Hattenburg born in 1977.

 

She loved being a part of the Ebay team at Convergys Corp. and working on Genealogy. She loved to read books and do crafts with her grandchildren.

 

Marsha is survived by siblings, Mike (Cathy) Lee, Steven Lee, Patti (Steve) Rollins, and Carolyn (Bill) Olsen, daughter Rebecca (Shaffer) Hattenburg and her partner John Asmus, 4 grandchildren Kristin Farr, Alexis Hattenburg, Mckenzie Hattenburg, and Jake Lee, 2 step grandchildren, Madison and Mikell Asmus, many nieces and nephews and fur grandbabies, Charlie, Raven, and Cooper who she adored dearly.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bradford T. Lee, sister in-law Karen Lee, and niece Amy Lee.

 

The family would like to thank Beehive Healthcare for providing exceptional primary care and treating her like family, as well as Intermountain Hospice for keeping her comfortable. She was truly an angel sent from God and will forever be in our hearts. It gives us peace knowing she has been reunited with our past loved ones and that she is free of pain. We will never forget her and will be together again.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary and are welcome to attend the funeral.

 

Interment-Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
