Obituary

Marshall John Frederick was born to the late George Frederick, Jr. and Willie Mae Valsin Frederick in Lafayette, Louisiana on October 5, 1957, and was called home on August 25, 2025.

A devoted father and grandfather, he approached life with kindness and dedication. He found his greatest joy with his grandchildren, always offering love and encouragement. His welcoming nature made him a friend to all-he saw the good in everyone.

Whether lending support to others or simply sharing a laugh, Marshall lived with warmth, generosity, and love. He will be missed by all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the lives he encountered.

He leaves behind three sons, Derrick Frederick (Sharell), Quincy Lendo, and Jalen Frederick Sr. (Felicia); two daughters, Lanna Roberts (Zach) and Kiana Frederick; nine grandchildren, Dezire Frederick, Draedan Frederick, Remi Roberts, Kaedan Frederick, Lyla Frederick, Avery Roberts, Justice Semere, Malanie Frederick, and Jalen Frederick Jr.; five brothers, Dennis Frederick (Dianne), Raymond Frederick Sr. (Prenella), Roland Frederick Sr. (Lakaina), Larry Frederick Sr. (Elizabeth), and Robert Frederick Sr.; two sisters, Rose Mary Francis and Janice Dartez; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his partner of 29 years, Rose Robicheaux; his parents, George and Willie Mae Valsin Frederick; his son Marcus Robicheaux; his sister Suzanne Frederick; and his grandparents, George Frederick Sr. and Edna Jean Batiste Frederick.

Marshall J. Frederick's Celebration of Life will take place on August 30, 2025. The visitation will begin at 11am at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette. The service will take place at 1pm at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
