It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marshall Gorman
Foster Jr., who died peacefully on March 4, 2025, at the age of 71.
A devoted father and grandfather, he was an avid fly fisherman and fly
tyer, known for his exquisite flies that beautifully mimicked nature. He
was also a lover of music, having most recently taken up the African
drum.
Prior to retirement, Marshall worked as a carpenter, having proudly built
many beautiful custom homes in the city of Birmingham, AL.
Marshall is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gaye Ellen Moore,
Marshall Gorman Foster and Percy Walton Moore, Jr., as well as his
wife, Dorothy Brown Foster.
He is survived by his sons, Marshall Eugene Foster and his wife
Catherine, of Pelham, AL, Garrison Foster and his wife Lauren, of
Helena, AL, and his two grandchildren, Levie and Granger Foster. He is
also survived by two brothers, Walt Moore of Mountain Brook, AL, and
Drew Moore and his wife Teresa of Chelsea, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Project Healing
Waters, a cause Marshall eagerly supported in their work with veterans.

I had the honor of getting to know Marshall while he was at Aspire. We talked and laughed on several occasions. From our conversations, the one thing that stood out was his love for his family. He was so proud of his sons and he spoke of them often. I know he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Sending my sympathies and prayers for family and friends.
