Marshall Jay Morris, 72, of Cedar Springs passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Marshall was born March 4, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI to James and Rosanne (Merlington) Morris.
Marsh worked many years in the heating and cooling industry, where he was dedicated and dependable in his work ethic and made many friends along the way. In recent years during his many hospital visits, he would always share stories of different areas of the hospital he worked in and would occasionally run into old co-workers. He had a love for the outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing or spending the day on the golf course. He also loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, where his quiet cheers and proud grin said more than words ever could. Marsh was a man of few words, but those who knew him will remember his easygoing nature and the simple joy of hearing him whistle a tune-a sure sign that he was content and in his happiest moments.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jari Lynn Morris; brothers-in-law Chris Chase, Mark Barnhart; sister-in-law Ruth Hamilton and brother Martin Morris. Surviving are his children Kevin Jay (Kara) Morris of Gowen and Kelly Lynn (Brian) Stewart of Howard City; grandchildren, Nicholas Marshall (Sienna) Morris, Delaney Nichole Stewart, Kalina Lynn Morris, Brenden Jay Morris and Lauren Jari Stewart; great-grandchildren, Brooks Micah Morris and Mila Lanae Morris; sister, Shannon Morris; brother, Troy Morris; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joe (Sheryl) Hamilton, John Hamilton, Jeff (Annette) Hamilton, Julie Barnhart, Jan Chase, Joni (Scott) Olmsted and Jeanne Hand; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7th from 6-8 pm at K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs where the service will be held Saturday 11:00 am. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice.
