Marta Perez Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Oct. 3, 2025.
Marta Trujillo Perez was born on May 20, 1945, and passed from this life on September 27, 2025, a day made especially meaningful, as it was also her mother's birthday. Her family says her mother came and gently picked her up that day.
Marta was a woman of deep selflessness and unwavering love, especially for children. Her care extended far beyond her own family, as she helped raise many others with the same devotion and warmth. She shared over 30 beautiful years with the love of her life, Javier Perez, and always expressed her desire to be with him for eternity.
She didn't mince words. Marta was known for speaking the truth, even when it was hard to hear. But those who knew her best understood it always came from a place of love. With Marta, you always knew where you stood. She had a gift for recognizing when someone close to her was struggling and was always there to listen, offering a shoulder to lean on and a heart full of empathy.
Marta was a wonderful mother, and her pride in her family was reflected in the way she cared for them. She showed her love through presence, kindness, and unwavering support. She treated her friends much the same way, always making time to show them they mattered.
She had a passion for many things, but one of her favorite pastimes was shopping. You might even say Marta had a bit of a bougie side. She had an eye for the finer things and loved being spoiled by her family, especially by her devoted husband, who never missed a chance to dote on her.
In her younger years, Marta loved to dance, in fact, that's how she met Javier. They were introduced on the dance floor at a local discotheque, and what began with a few spins turned into a lifelong romance. Music remained her favorite companion throughout life, always preferred over television, and it filled her home just as her laughter filled every room.
Marta had a sharp sense of humor and a bright spirit that could bring a smile to anyone's face. She remained positive through life's challenges and was a grounding, encouraging force to those around her.
She is survived by her children: Michael Perez and his wife Alexandra Pydynkowsky, Cecilia Castillo, and Alfonso Trujillo; her siblings: Maria Helena Hernandez, Maria Luisa Hernandez, Maggie Florez, Minnie Donladson, Alicia Shoemake, and Victor Montoya Jr. She also leaves behind countless grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving family members and friends.
Marta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Javier Perez, and her mother, Cecilia Montoya.
