Martha Lassiter Barber passed away August 16, 2025. She was born December 9, 1942, to Mart and Augie Lassiter in Cave City, Arkansas.
Martha married Mike Barber in 1965. She graduated from Cave City High School where she played basketball and also graduated from Arkansas State University. She taught at several schools during her career, retiring from Sylvan Hills Elementary. After her retirement, she was a substitute teacher at Beebe.
Martha was an avid sports fan of all sports and especially supported the Arkansas Razorbacks. She loved spending time in her yard gardening.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of Mary’s Lambs Sunday school class.
Martha is survived by her son, Chris Barber; sister-in-law, Faye Lassiter; nieces and nephews Cindy Sullivan (Jim), Steve Lassiter (Colleen), Kelly Lassiter, Suzan Wittenburg (Mark), Jeff Lassiter (Jennifer), Leslie Cypert (Jake), Tara Rogers (Mike), Will Lassiter, Courtney Underwood (Stephen), Brandi Liles, Larry Barber, Sean Barber, Melissa Barber Gonzalez, Allison Barber Moore, and Dianna Barber Sellers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill Lassiter and Willard Lassiter.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beebe First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 67, Beebe, AR 72012.
Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Beebe. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
