It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Martha Beisel on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 91. She resided at Southwood Care Center for the past 6 years, and the last 4 years where shared with her husband Gilbert in their deluxe suite.
Martha was born in Kaleland, Alberta on October 14, 1933. She later moved to Calgary where she called home until her passing. Her proudest accomplishment was graduating from the Alberta College’s Commercial Department in 1954, and her career took her to a legal firm as well as 25 years with Gulf Oil.
Martha had an unwavering love for her family, and known for her warm smile & laughter. A woman of life-long faith, Martha found comfort and joy in old Gospel hymns, a staple in her life. Martha had a special place in her heart for nature, particularly for birds and flowers. Her favorite was carnations, which bought beauty and grace to her home. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Ogden Legion, a place where she devoted her time to serving her community. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She was married to the love of her life, Gilbert, for an incredible 67 years. Together, they created a full life living in the Ogden area for 60+ years. They formed many long lasting friendships with their neighbors, which was very important to them. They shared their common love for all music, and particularly their passion for horses, to include their racing horses.
Martha was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Jenny Werenka; and is survived by her husband, Gilbert Beisel, and extended family members.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.
